Thin films of SnO2 were deposited by RF-magnetron sputtering on quartz substrates at room temperature in an environment of Ar and O2. The XRD pattern shows amorphous nature of the as-deposited films. The optical properties were studied using the reflectance and transmittance spectra. The estimated optical band gap (Eg) values increase from 4.15 to 4.3 eV as the Ar gas content decreases in the process gas environment. The refractive index exhibits an oscillatory behavior that is strongly dependent on the sputtering gas environment. The Urbach energy is found to decrease with increase in band gap. The band gap is found to decrease on annealing the film. The role of oxygen defects is explored in explaining the variation of optical parameters. 相似文献

Chemical investigation of the soft coral Sarcophyton glaucum collected from the Red Sea led to isolation of 11 isoprenoidal metabolites (1–11). A new sesquiterpenoid, 6-oxo-germacra-4(15),8,11-triene (1), a new natural cembranoid, sarcophinediol, along with two known sesquiterpenoids (2 and 3) and seven known cembranoids (5–11) was obtained. The structures of the compounds were established based on their NMR, MS, IR and UV spectral data. All compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity employing three cancer cell lines (HepG2, MCF-7 and HCT116). Compounds 4 and 6 showed significant cytotoxicity towards HepG2 with IC50 values of 18.8 ± 0.07 and 19.9 ± 0.02 μM; respectively. Compounds 5–7 exhibited potent cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cells with IC50 values of 9.9 ± 0.03, 2.4 ± 0.04 and 3.2 ± 0.02 μM, respectively. This research paper comprises of the synthesis of polypyrrole (PPy)-Fe2O3 nanocomposites by employing the in situ chemical oxidative polymerization method. The concentration of the filler material was adjusted between 10–50 wt % of PPy. The synthesized nanocomposites were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD). Magnetic analysis and DC electrical conductivity of the samples were carried out using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and two probe DC conductivity method, point towards magnetically active and electrically conductive samples. The magnetic parameters under applied magnetic field demonstrated that the values of coercivity (H c ), saturation magnetization (M s ) and remanence (M r ) can be tailored by carefully controlling the amount of dopant material into the nanocomposites indicating their suitability for controllable switching devices and microwave absorption applications. The DC electrical conductivity showed an increase up to 20 wt % of filler material and thereafter a decrease in the conductivity of nanocomposites with increase in filler content is observed. A full field solution, based on small deformation, three-dimensional elastic–plastic finite element analysis of the centrally cracked thin disk under mode I loading has been performed. The solution for the stresses under small-scale yielding and lo!cally fully plastic state has been compared with the HRR plane stress solution. At the outside of the 3D zone, within a distance of rσo/J=18, HRR dominance is maintained in the presence of a significant amount of compressive stress along the crack flanks. Ahead of this region, the HRR field overestimate the stresses. These results demonstrate a completely reversed state of stress in the near crack front compared to that in the plane strain case. The combined effect of geometry and finite thickness of the specimen on elastic–plastic crack tip stress field has been explored. To the best of our knowledge, such an attempt in the published literature has not been made yet. For the qualitative assessment of the results some of the field parameters have been compared to the available experimental results of K, gives a fair estimate of the crack opening stress near the crack front at a distance of order 10−2 in. On the basis of this analysis, the Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics approach has been adopted in analyzing the fatigue crack extension experiments performed in the disk (Part II). 相似文献
